Food Supplements For Elderly

I have taken and their elderly dog licks his bed. I gave him another bed, but she licks it, too. Why?
Sierra is about 13 years, Malamute cross with hip problems. She eats dog food quality 2x day, is complemented by DGP (Dog Gone Pain), cool factor and a common supplement. She is a leash daily walks through the forest, and has access to full-time through a doggie door to an acre of land fenced. She has friends, a golden retriever 9 years old, 4 cats, 3 chickens and a horse. Sometimes they eat horse manure and licks the dirt. She is not nervous or too sensitive.
