Pancreatic insufficiency in cats ....?

I just found out that my cat has pancreatic insufficiency. He is barely a year old and has been ill for several months. The vet finally diagnosed the problem and have an appointment today to take my cat and picked up the medicine. Somebody out there has a cat with this condition? If so, what is your cat receives treatment and the treatment has helped him / her? From what I can tell from looking online drugs / food or supplements that help with this disease are very expensive. Any helpful suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Pancreatic insufficiency is something that is going to have to deal with the rest of the life of your cat. Not all cats are the same, and not all cats respond the same. See also the information on diabetic cats, and that both diseases are based in the pancreas. I've been dealing with the pancreas of Rusty "problems" and the resulting Bank for about six years, and this after many years before not really knowing what they were (issues of pancreas may be difficult to specify). Rusty will be 18 on April 1. One recommendation is undoubtedly an enzyme supplement like Pancrezyme, or pancreas of other animal-based supplements. An enzyme supplement is crucial, but honestly, I thought such good results with a * mushroom * based on receipt of the enzyme that Dr. Goodpet (link included, but * only because it worked for my cat does not mean it will work for yours .* While most professionals in the statement that animal-based enzymes are needed, as I said, I found these to be effective. I weaned at the Dr Goodpets slowly to see if I noticed any problems. When the transition was complete, I could not find adverse effects or difference in him. However, continued, regular blood is needed to ensure that if any cat. You will have to feed your cat as if she is diabetic, which means a low no ABSOLUTELY NO food grain corn, wheat or wheat gluten, and foods that are easy to digest to begin with. I think "best quality" preserved, without grain, but many of these manufacturers are also including vegetables, etc. I have no problem with this set, but I realize peas and carrots digest. In terms of canned food, I noticed that he does very well on (GASP) not gluten varieties of Fancy Feast. I usually do not mix this with some other foods as well (although their poop is careless with the welfare), Max Cat, and Innova (yes, they have vegetables). However, they also feed about 50% raw food, and this is something you could consider. Raw foods naturally contain enzymes (patties have been cooked and preserved out all enzymes) that are helpful in digestion. Improving your general health increased after the introduction of a raw diet. I use a supplement called Feline Instincts (link included) and its idiot proof recipe raw for most of my raw food. You want a high protein, low fat, low grain diet. It may take a while for food testing see which ones work best, and I generally give to eat of 3-4 weeks. I also think that a steady diet of food can run out, both the palate and pancreas, so include at least 2-3 different brands of food (not only flavors) in the mix, and I'm always looking for a better combination or selection. I, however, always keep the party in the mixture of fantasy, at least I can get those at the supermarket, and need not be in a position of not being able to wean a new food. Also, avoid fish, and absolutely no shrimp. I add a tiny shred of Metamucil for wet food at least once a day, and always night. This piece of non-grain fiber helps to realize the stool, helping to stop it through the digestive tract, optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption. I keep dry food to a minimum because it has more enzymes to digest food drier. What I do is use Nutro sensitive system and that seems to be working very well (I Felidae plan to try and sensitive but can not get locally). If you have a public water supply, your cat with filtered water or spring, and I'm very serious respect. Most public water supplies has 140-275 ppm of 'things', not to mention chlorine and fluorine, which stresses the pancreas, well as kidney and liver. Keep a diary of how you administer your medicines, foods, what times of day, etc. It's much easier identify what works and what is not, or what might have gone to the mix that help or hinder the progress. You need to be an inspector from the stern as it takes about 12-15 hours for food to move through the digestive system of a healthy cat, however, may be less or more in length with a cat form is compromised, whose digestive system. If I'm not sure about something, I will add some green food coloring to the food, so I can tell how fast food in particular is going through the system, or if possible one that is creating the problem. Personally, I found several small meals a day to create less tension in the system, and have found most owners of diabetic animals say the same thing. As I am not always around to offer these small meals is one of the reasons that include food dry food program. Once you get into a routine, not that hard. Good luck and best wishes for long life for your kitten. Http: / / www.goodpet.com / library / pharmacyFiles / feline.asp http://www.felineinstincts.com/
