Sick dog, bad breath? Home-Remedies?
My poor dog was sick yesterday and vomited / had diarrhea. Now, his breath is horrible. I gave him a bath because he had licked himself and the whole place just reeked. That helped, but he still has the worst breath! I know, I know. "Take the vet, buy toothpaste, etc etc ", but the roads are very icy and has become dark and the nearest pet store is still quite far so you can see why I do not want to leave. Is there anything I can do at home to help? Can I give to eat apples to get rid of bad breath? What if only submerge the head of a toothbrush in a mouth rinse and gargle after that about? Any suggestions please?! He is fine now. No more vomiting / diarrhea. He has returned to her being playful and energetic. He is eating and drinking as normal.
You can clean the teeth of dogs with just a wet toothbrush or even a piece of gauze wrapped around your finger if you do not have dog toothpaste. I would not use mouthwash, as almost always contain alcohol and sweeteners artificial that can be harmful for dogs. The apple is not a bad idea. My dog loves.
