Revitalize the skin in front of the car ...?

My brother has a '04 5 series my mom for her birthday 16. The car is in perfect condition excluding door handles inside the car. It does not handle the same but the part that is used to close the door once your in the car. Her skin is cinnamon and black now and dirty. Is there any special cleaner or home remedy to get this black stuff off and make it look clean?
