Natural Cures To Constipation

How many prunes would I have to eat...?
I know they are a good natural laxative, and I have been having some constipation problems...
I found some prunes in my cupboard so I went to eat some and realized I REALLY don't like them at all. I've eaten about 5... how many do you think I would need to eat to cure my problem?

I'm sorry you don't like them, I LOVE them. The actual problem for me is their laxative property's. Since I eat them a lot, I can tell you you probably need to eat 20-30 go get the effects. Or take laxative medicine. Actually, I believe it's the chemical used to dry the peaches to prunes that is the laxative, and not the actual prunes themselves. It could also be the fiber in them, so try eating things with fiber. Also, drinking lots of Tamarind juice will help, which you can find at almost any Hispanic grocery store. Try drinking lots of water and walking a lot as well. If you simply don't like the texture of prunes try 100% prune juice, which also helps to prevent yeast infections and will work faster. I don't know about these 2 but some people say spinach and peanuts eaten in the shell. Some foods that WILL constipate you, that you might want to avoid for awhile are BRAT foods, B is bananas, R is rice, A is apple sauce and T is toast. Milk of magnesia works well to.
