any home remedies or vitamins my hubby can take to lower his blood pressure?

Yes! Before I start, because it will be a long answer, let me tell you where my info comes from. My "partner" had very high blood pressure, to the point where he was hospitalized for several weeks. After taking him to see my Homopathic practitioner once, his blood pressure is sometimes well below normal, and he has lost over 70 pounds. I hope this helps.

First, he should continue taking any medication his doctor has given him, and have any tests done that are recomended. Secondly, invest in a blood pressure monitor you can use at home. You can find one online at lower prices, however, you can pick up one from your local drug store (or even Wal-Mart or Target) for about $30. That way he can monitor his pressure thru out the day. There may be some part of the day that is particularlly stressful to him that is raising it.

Third, if he is over weight, he needs to loose weight. If he is not excercising on a regular basis, he needs to. Just like there is no magic diet pill to make you skinny, there is no magic pills to make you healthy if you have heart disease. It takes work.

As far as supplements go... He should be taking an asprin in the morning and at night (with some food). Co Q-10 & fish oil supplements are also very helpful. However, he should check with his doctor before starting any excercise regiment or taking any suplements.

The one thing I can tell that will probally be the most helpful to you, cut out as much sugar as you can! Read the ingredients on everything you buy. You will be shocked to see what has sugar in it. Even many spices you buy do. I found out I was allergic to sugar cane, and let me tell you, it was an eye opeining experience!

If you have a health food store in your area, go there and ask them about supplements to lower blood pressure. They should be a great help. If you have a Homopathic practioner in your area, you should consider setting up an appt. .
